Welcome to Hogwarts!

13 Dec – Welcome to Hogwarts! – or at least the mobile game version of it. Potterheads will be delighted to know starting from next year, a new role-playing game will give them the chance to experience life as a student at the wizarding school.

"Harry Potters: Hogwarts Mystery" is a story-driven mobile narrative role-playing game, as described on Pottermore, which will be released in 2018.

The game, also part of the Portkey Games label from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, is developed by Los Angeles-based mobile games studio Jam City. It will allow players to create their own character who can then attend classes at the school.

This might be the only time anyone would be excited to go (back) to school but at this point, there's no word yet on the actual release date.

While patiently waiting for their turn for the Sorting Hat, fans can go catch "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald", opening in cinemas in November 2018.

This isn't the only "Harry Potter" mobile game currently being developed, as fans would already know. There is the previously announced augmented reality game "Harry Potter: Wizards Unite" from the creators of "Pokémon GO".

If both games are released next year, there'll be an increase of wand-wielding (or mobile-waving) wizards and very amused uninitiated muggles across the globe.

True Potterheads would already be designing their characters before "Harry Potters: Hogwarts Mystery" even drops.
