Writer: Farah Hanis

After more than 25 years, Linda Hamilton is now back as the hard-edged Sarah Connor.

21 Sep – Rejoice "Terminator" fans! Word have just spread that the reunion of the original "Terminator" team – James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger, has just gotten bigger with Linda Hamilton now on board for the new movie.

Last appearing in the 1991's "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" as the mother of the human resistance leader, Hamilton's involvement was announced by Cameron at a private event celebrating the sci-fi franchise he created, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

"As meaningful as she was to gender and action stars everywhere back then, it's going to make a huge statement to have that seasoned warrior that she's become return," he said during the event.

"There are 50-year-old, 60-year-old guys out there killing bad guys [in the movies], but there isn't an example of that for women."

Hamilton is the first actress to portray the iconic Sarah Connor when she starred in the first film, "The Terminator" that was released back in 1984.

Started off as a waitress that is being hunt down by a killing machine, Connor returns in the 1991's sequel as a hard-edged warrior who is out to protect her son – the future human resistance leader.

This reunion will mark the first time that Cameron, Schwarzenegger and Hamilton will be working together on the series following Cameron and Hamilton's exit after "Terminator 2".

To be produced by Cameron alongside Skydance, the upcoming movie will serve as a direct sequel to "Terminator 2" with "Deadpool" Tim Miller as its helmer.
