2 Jul – After having a swimmingly successful time as an aquatic superhero, "Aquaman" star Jason Momoa is heading to a frostier land in his next big screen venture.

Momoa is joining Warner Bros.' "Frosty the Snowman", in which he will be lending his voice to the eponymous snowy character, Deadline reported.

As the movie is a CG/live-action project, Frosty will be CG animated. The human cast for the live-action part of the movie has yet to be revealed.

"From his role as a fearsome count in a land of ice and fire to the oceanic success we all had with Aquaman, it felt only right to realize Jason this time out of snow," said Jon Berg, who is producing the movie alongside Greg Silverman under their Stampede Ventures banner.

Silverman stated, "We know Jason's as a true human being filled with love, compassion and a deep connection to ohana - all of which is the living spirit of Xmas and Frosty."

Also producing are Momoa himself and Geoff Johns of Mad Ghost Productions. David Berenbaum will write the script but no director has been named at the moment.

Frosty the Snowman has starred in several animated films.

The first screen adaptation of Frosty the Snowman was in a 1950 3-minute short. In 1969, it was adapted into an animated Christmas television special adaptation, which spawned two sequels in the 1970s, "Frosty's Winter Wonderland" and "Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July".

Frosty later appeared again in a 1992 half-hour special, "Frosty Returns", and in a 2005 straight-to-video film "The Legend of Frosty the Snowman".

Before voicing Frosty, Momoa will first be seen in this year's Denis Villeneuve-helmed "Dune" and in next year's "Sweet Girl". His portrayal of Aquaman will be seen once again in "Zack Snyder's Justice League", also referred to as the Snyder Cut, that will be releasing on HBO Max in 2021. He will also reprise the superhero role for the 2022 "Aquaman" sequel.
