2 Aug – Dev Patel recently admitted that he has no interest in doing any more superhero movies and blockbuster flicks in the future.

And you could say it is all M. Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender" film's fault!

In an interview with the New York Times, the British-Indian actor admitted that the said film, which is an adaptation of the hit animated series of the same name, was one of the worst movies he has ever done.

"I didn't really flourish in that position. I take my hat off to all those incredible actors that do Marvel movies where it's, like, big, noisy fans and green screen and tennis balls and whatnot," he said.

It is noted that Shyamalan's 2010 adaptation of the beloved series was a critical and commercial flop, with the movie becoming a source of internet memes and butt of jokes of many YouTube movie reviews.

"I was probably miscast, and the film didn't hit the mark," he admitted. "It was a really hard process for me because it was such a bigger machine than what I was used to from "Skins", that I felt a bit adrift at sea."

The "Slumdog Millionaire" star had since starred in less high-profile projects including the critically acclaimed "Lion", the action-thriller, "Hotel Mumbai", and the 2019 Armando Iannucci movie, "The Personal History of David Copperfield".

His latest film, "The Green Knight" has also recently received a positive response from critics.
