Watch this if you liked: “Independence Day” (1996)

The Good, the Bad and the Alien Invasion:

• The film is enjoyable but not as enjoyable or memorable as its predecessor.

• The plot is almost similar to the first film but comes in a larger scale with a huge improvement in visual effects.

• However, the film has way too many characters and it is hard to keep up with each of them.

• As usual, it is really difficult for a sequel to surpass an original, and this film is no different, but the effort given by the cast and crew is admirable.

Trivia:

• Maika Monroe replaced Mae Whitman as Bill Pullman's daughter and this causes outrage among fans, it was speculated that the producers believed Whitman was not "conventionally pretty" enough to reprise her role.
